Maricopa, Az- re:ZENation, consisting of Maricopa residents and Certified Drum Circle Facilitators Lizz Fiedorczyk and Deb West is looking forward to bringing no charge Drum Circles to the City.

When asked to explain Drum Circles, Lizz states that they are being seen as the popularity of yoga movement of the 8o’s. “Drum Circles are a collective experience, not a drum lesson. An evidence-based peer support model utilizing recreational music. Drum circles offer a place free of judgement free of expectations and free of guilt. Our goals are to provide a place for love and gratitude to prevail in a connection with community.”

re.ZENation’s facilitators were trained and received Certification in the nationally renowned “Drumming Sounds” protocol. After years of enjoying the fun and stress relief drum circles provide as participants, they completed training in Sedona, Az. 

Deb West states “I was reluctant to attend a Drum Circle because I felt I had no rhythm and therefore would embarrass myself and mess up the beat. I was so wrong! There is no judgement at all and everyone and anyone, regardless of musical ability, or lack thereof, can have a great time! We encourage all to attend give it a try and see what it can do for you!”

Drum Circles benefit all ages, all physical and mental abilities. re.ZENation is anxious to bring the beat to social groups, team building meetings, retirement events, schools, clubs and hope to secure space at libraries, coffee houses and community centers. They will also be doing “pop up” events in our local parks and welcome the community to sit down and drum along.  They hope to see the embrace of the diversity of the community come together through these gatherings.

Lizz adds “There is so much negativity and hate in this world and sadly even in our community. We want to change that as much as we can, take our participants to another place, even if just for an hour. Together, with you, we can make a difference, one Drum Circle at a time!”

What is a re:ZENation experience?

We arrive at the venue with our drums and fun percussion sound makers, yours or ours! 

Currently, we have enough instruments for 20-25 participants.

There is no charge, but we ask that participants or the venue provide chairs to be placed in the Drum   Circle. 

Please bring your own beverages with sealable lids.

Each participant will be given the opportunity to choose the instrument that wish to begin with. 

After we explain what we will be doing the excitement will begin!

In a Drum Circle you participate at your comfort level. You may want to make a lot of noise, hoot and holler, dance or use the beat to meditate. No one will be called upon unless they want to be. This is your time! NO ONE is judged for any reason as we become a harmonious community.

After our time is up, you will leave with a smile, some new friends and a renewed sense of ZEN! Join us in our joy!
